NEWS RELEASE - "WATER SAFETY EXHIBITION"
In conjunction with the month of May being "NATIONAL WATER SAFETY MONTH", Rizzo Pool in Newington, CT is your pool safety headquarters. All pool owners are encouraged to stop by and pick up free safety literature and hair entrapment solution. On May 16, and May 30, 2009, safety experts will be on hand between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to answer questions and showcase the latest in pool safety equipment in our showroom.

- On December 19, 2007 this law was signed by President Bush
- Commercial pools must comply by DECEMBER 19, 2008
- What pool owners must comply with:

All main drain covers MUST be stamped (visible) with:
- ASME A112.19.8 - 2007
- Flow Rating (GPM)
- Manufacturer and Model
- Life of cover (years)
- All main drains manufactured after December 19, 2008 will meet these requirements.
- Existing main drain covers must be retro-fitted with approved covers.
- Any
pool with a single main drain other than an un-blockable drain (defined
as a drain 18" x 23", or larger) shall be equipped with one of the
following:
- SVRS
- Suction limiting vent line (Atmosphere vent)
- Gravity drainage system (surge tank, surge pit)
- Automatic pump shut-off
- Drain disablement: NOTE: CT state code still requires main drains for circulation.
